House extension and refurbishment in Wimbledon Village
J7 successfully gained plannning permission within the conservation area for this project to extend and refurbish this detached residence. We carried out all design work, gained all necessary approvals, tendered the project and then managed the contract, carrying out regular site inspections.
A bespoke timber conservatory with special 'ventilated ridge' system was installed to create a stunnning 'inside - outside' space.
Double sliding 'pocket' glazed doors were installed in a new structural opening formed from the house, into the conservatory.
An extension was constructed to accommodate the new Kitchen space, with an open roof containing roof windows to create a very light and airy space.
The existing house was quite dark and the clients wanted to maximise the daylight into the property. J7 proposed that the rear wall of the house be taken out, over 2 storeys to create a stunning, bright, double height staircase space.
A glass extension was also constructed at the rear of the house, with sliding folding doors, to create a dining room with good daylighting and the ability to be opened right up to the rear courtyard garden.
The house was also fully refurbished, our comprehensive drawings and specification allowed competitive prices to be obtained from local builders.
